MOLLY CARTER, KOBE INC.

Molly Carter is an award-winning brand architect known for developing innovative campaigns, content and partnerships for Fortune 100 companies, athlete brands and creative development organizations.

Carter is the Chief Marketing Officer for KOBE INC., the umbrella company formed by NBA legend Kobe Bryant to redefine storytelling within sports. She is responsible for marketing, creative strategy, new business development and development partnerships for Granity Studios, KOBE INC’s wholly-owned multi-media content creation company; and for the overall strategic direction, global brand management and licensing of Kobe Bryant’s eponymous brand.

In her role at KOBE INC., Carter is focused on developing, launching and marketing original content that challenges the way sports is seen as a medium. Carter is an executive producer and the marketing mind behind “Dear Basketball,” the multiple award-winning film that received the 2018 Academy Award and the 2018 Annie Award for Best Animated Short; and has developed the promotional campaigns and distribution partnerships for Granity Studios’ original content across industry-leading digital, broadcast and publishing platforms such as ESPN and MacMillan.

Most recently, Carter served in multiple senior leadership roles for PepsiCo’s Gatorade brand, where she was responsible for advertising creative, media planning, branded content, digital, social media, public relations, crisis communications and influencer marketing. Under Carter’s leadership, she led the commercialization for five different sports nutrition product launches, and helmed two Gatorade global campaigns - “Sweat it to Get It” and “Made in New York: Derek Jeter’s Retirement” – to being named AdWeek’s #1 and #2 most viewed campaigns of the year, and the latter receiving the 2015 Grand Clio Sports award for film.

Prior to Gatorade, Carter developed and oversaw the strategic vision, tone and brand voice for Converse Basketball, which included the launch and commercialization of NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade’s signature footwear and apparel lines.

A Chicago native, Carter is a graduate of DePaul University where she began her career in the Sports Information Department. She now resides in Southern California with her husband and two sons.
